HOURCAR is happy to introduce you to your Fleet Team: our Fleet Manager, Meredith, and our Fleet Assistants, Drew & Justin. These superstars have been out jump-starting vehicles and keeping HOURCAR running in the cold weather. They work hard to keep all 73 HOURCAR vehicles on the road, no matter how brutal our winter gets.
Car #19 has moved to a new, easily accessible location at Hope Community’s Children’s Village Center, just south of Franklin on Oakland Avenue. The ongoing effort to encourage car-sharing in Phillips is part of HOURCAR’s commitment to expanding transit options in diverse neighborhoods.
Car #40 now has a State Park Permit, allowing our members free admittance to any of Minnesota’s 67 state parks. The car, a 2014 Honda Civic, is located steps from the Prospect Park Green Line Station making it easily accessible from both Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
HOURCAR members in downtown Saint Paul now have a new vehicle to choose from. Car #22, a red Scion xD, is the fifth car to join HOURCAR’s downtown fleet. It is located at 226 7th Street, near the intersection of 7th St. & Wall St. and one and a half blocks north of Mears Park.
HOURCAR, the Twin Cities’ local car sharing program, announces the coming completion of a significant fleet expansion. The expansion, begun in June 2013, increases the number of vehicles in HOURCAR’s fleet to 73 and significantly expands the number of neighborhoods served.
HOURCAR has expanded its presence at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to include an HOURCAR hub on the University’s Saint Paul campus. The Saint Paul campus hub is located in Lot 101, a surface parking lot at 2043 Commonwealth Avenue.
This new HOURCAR location houses a red Honda Fit, labelled HOURCAR #53.
HOURCAR opened a new hub today at Mill & Main Apartments in the Saint Anthony Falls area of Minneapolis. This new hub features a red Fiat 500, labeled HOURCAR #42. The HOURCAR is parked directly in front of Mill & Main, at 501 SE Main Street.
HOURCAR members have been excited to have another hub in this area, so we are pleased to partner with Mill & Main to make it possible.
HOURCAR members have enjoyed using daily rates on some of our cars for years. Most HOURCAR trips are still shorter trips here in the Twin Cities, but occasionally it’s nice to get out of town—we’ve had members use daily rates to take HOURCARs to Duluth, Wisconsin, and Chicago (and send us some great pictures of their travels!).
Effective this week, we’re expanding the number of HOURCARs on which daily rates are available. All HOURCARs in the downtown Minneapolis, Elliot Park, Loring Park, Stevens Square, Whittier, Lowry Hill, and Uptown neighborhoods will now have daily rates.
Do you work for or know a nonprofit organization that could use car sharing? Check out HOURCAR’s great nonprofit rates.
We’re available to come out to your office and present a free HOURCAR Lunch & Learn to staff. In 30 minutes, we’ll go over all the benefits of being an HOURCAR nonprofit member, pricing, and answer any questions you may have. Plus we’ll bring your office some nifty HOURCAR coffee mugs.
To schedule an HOURCAR Lunch & Learn contact Scott at 651.221.4462, ext. 109 or email him.
I do realize that my desire to not own a car is considered by some to be unpatriotic. I say let’s define being American in a new way. How about a U.S. that promotes a better, cleaner and healthier lifestyle?
