HOURCAR has expanded its presence at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to include an HOURCAR hub on the University’s Saint Paul campus. The Saint Paul campus hub is located in Lot 101, a surface parking lot at 2043 Commonwealth Avenue.

This new HOURCAR location houses a red Honda Fit, labelled HOURCAR #53.

HOURCAR is pleased to announce the addition of a new hub location today in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis. The new plug-in hybrid Toyota Prius at this hub is the 36th vehicle in HOURCAR’s fleet and brings HOURCAR to a new neighborhood in the Twin Cities

HOURCAR’s new Linden Hills location launches with the sponsorship of the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) and is hosted by Settergren Ace Hardware (2813 West 43rd Street), with the support of the City of Minneapolis’ Neighborhood Revitalization Program.

HOURCAR’s 35th vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, was added today to our Stevens Square hub in Minneapolis. The Stevens Square hub is accessible to most of HOURCAR’s members in Minneapolis, who will now have access to an HOURCAR truck without crossing the river. HOURCAR users in Saint Paul enjoy the use of HOURCAR’s truck at the Macalester College hub.

As you can see in this image, HOURCAR and our new Ford Ranger have the same city of origin: good old Saint Paul!

HOURCAR members enjoy access to all of the vehicles in our fleet.

HOURCAR announces the launch of its 34th shared vehicle in the Twin Cities. The car will join the Macalester College hub location at the corner of Grand Avenue and Macalester Street in Saint Paul. Macalester now hosts the largest car-sharing hub in the Twin Cities, with four vehicles: two Honda Fits, a Toyota Prius, and a Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

The busy HOURCAR hub at Macalester College is used frequently by neighborhood residents and Macalester students, making it not only the largest but one of HOURCAR’s most popular locations.

HOURCAR, the Twin Cities’ favorite car-sharing group, is sharing the love with Hamline students, staff, and faculty this month. An HOURCAR representative will be on campus at the Bush Student Center, on Wednesday, February 8th from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.; on Friday, February 10th from 8 a.m. – Noon, and on Wednesday February 15th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Current HOURCAR members at Hamline are encouraged to stop by to say hello and to pick up some goodies. And remember: you receive $25 driving credit for every new HOURCAR member who lists you as a referral source on their application.

On Monday, November 14, HOURCAR is co-sponsoring a special screening of the new film Revenge of the Electric Car, the sequel to the hit documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car?” Sponsored by Fresh Energy, this special event includes a pre-screening reception and a panel discussion after the film with director Chris Paine and Fresh Energy Executive Director Michael Noble.

Thanks to a partnership among HOURCAR's parent organization the Neighborhood Energy Connection, the City of Saint Paul, and Xcel Energy, two new plug-in hybrid vehicles are being added to HOURCAR's downtown Saint Paul fleet. A silver Toyota Prius joins the existing HOURCAR vehicle at the TPT hub and is available for reservations immediately. A red Toyota Prius will be launched shortly at the new Lawson hub.

HOURCAR announces a new hub location in Stadium Village, sponsored by Solhaus green apartments. The Stadium Village location is accessible via transit service along University Avenue.

HOURCAR announces the introduction of a student rate plan available to all undergraduate college students. Many college students’ lifestyles are well-suited to membership in a car-sharing organization: urban college campuses throughout the Twin Cities are located in walkable, bike-friendly, and transit-rich neighborhoods where students can easily meet their daily needs without a car.

HOURCAR’s new hub has opened in the Southeast Como neighborhood of Minneapolis! The hub is at Van Cleve Park, on the corner of Rollins Avenue SE and 15th Avenue SE. Bus route #3 passes by this hub and bike parking is available at the park.
